Indian Branch of the Civil Service Prayer Union,
though planned in
1886, decided to date its start from 1.1.1887 in order to
produce a
Calendar of Prayer that would have special relevance to India. The Subjects
for Special Prayer every Monday in India were printed at the end of the
1886 circular:
